Using the MS Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) Tool

Scope

The purpose of this tool, Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR), is to assist Nintex employees with resetting their Nintex account passwords and unlocking their accounts. 

How to Reset Your Password

  1. Navigate to https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com.
  2. Enter in your email address and the captcha in the boxes provided.
  3. Select I forgot my password. Note: You can use this option even if you know your existing password.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Select either Text my mobile phone, Call my mobile phone or Email my alternative email. 
  6. Enter your phone number in the box provided and click Text, Call or Email my alternative email. If you chose to receive a text, enter the verification code sent to you in the provided box and click 
  7. Enter and confirm your new password and press Finish.
  8. Perform the same steps with your 2nd authentication method.

Password requirements:

      • Password must contain at least 12 characters
      • You cannot reuse any of your previous passwords
      • Passwords cannot contain your name
      • Complex passwords are required (uppercase, lowercase, numerical, symbols)
      • Password must be changed every 90 days

 

How to Unlock Your Account

  1. Navigate to https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com.
  2. Enter your email address and the captcha in the boxes provided.
  3. Select I know my password, but I still can't get in
  4. Click Next.
  5. Select either Text my mobile phone or Call my mobile phone.
  6. Enter your phone number in the box provided and click Text or Call. 
  7. Repeat for your 2nd authentication method.

 

FAQ

What if I can't change my password using SSPR, is there another way to change my password?

If your password has not expired, you can change your password using this method:

  1. Navigate to: https://account.activedirectory.windowsazure.com/ChangePassword.aspx
  2. Enter your old password
  3. Create and confirm your new password
  4. Click Submit.

How often are passwords required to change? 

Every 90 days.

I've tried everything so far and I still can't update my password, what can I do?
