How to Setup SSPR (Self Service Password Reset)

Enrollment (Required to use SSPR)
In order to begin using SSPR, you must first enroll, which involves setting up a phone number or app for multi-factor authentication (MFA). We strongly recommend enrolling with SMS/Phone.

Note:  If you choose to enroll using an authenticator app like Duo or Microsoft Authenticator instead, please be aware that if you change your mobile device or have to reinstall the authenticator app in the future you will need to reach out to IT Support by submitting a ticket through IT Helpdesk to get help enrolling for SSPR again, and you will not be able to use the tool until that has been done. 

To enroll:

  1. Navigate to https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info. 
  2. Enter your Nintex credentials, if prompted. 
    Note: If you see a device already listed on this page, you are already enrolled for using SSPR and do not need to complete the rest of the steps.
  3. Click Add Method.
  4. Ensure Phone is selected.
  5. Click Add.
  6. Select the country code and phone number you'd like to register.
  7. If you'd like to receive a text/SMS to validate the phone number, select Text me a code. If you'd like to receive a phone call to validate the phone number, select Call me.
  8. Click Next.
  9. If you chose to receive a text, enter the provided code into the provided box and click Next. If you chose to receive a call, press # when prompted.
  10. You should receive a message that the phone was registered successfully. Click Done.
  11. Revert back to Add sign in Method and this time ensure you select Email. 
  12. Type in your personal email, a verification code will be sent to your personal email.
  13.  Copy/Type the verification code to the text box and that should add your email to the security info list. 

After completing these steps, you will have successfully enrolled with SSPR and can use the tool as described in the following sections.
